Paz Earns Co-ECAC Special Teams Player Of The Week Honor

Danbury, CT --- Freshman Sebastian Paz (Orlando, FL) has been recognized as the Corvais Co-ECAC Division III New England Special Teams Player of the Week for his solid efforts in a victory over Western Connecticut on Saturday.

Paz booted the game-winning 32-yard field goal with two seconds left in regulation and connected on all seven of his PATs to help lift Worcester State to a 52-49 win over the Colonials.

With his 10 point day, Paz moved into second among MASCAC kick-scoring leaders as he is just two off leader, senior Michael Killoran (W. Hartford, CT) of Western Connecticut, and he is eighth in overall scoring with 49 points which include five made field goals and a 34-for-34 line on extra point attempts.

Among single-season leaders at Worcester State, Paz is tied for fourth and he is just a single point away from tying second place. Former All-New England honoree Tom Gabriel set the school record with 61 points on 25 PATs and 12 made field goals in 2005.

This week Paz shares his first career ECAC accolade with sophomore Anthony Emberley (Longmont, CO) of MIT while he was honored with his second MASCAC Special Teams Player of the Week accolade after he was distinguished for a 12-point day in a win against Mass Maritime on September 29.

The Lancers (5-2, 3-2 MASCAC) entertain Plymouth State on "Senior Day" in their final home regular season contest on Saturday at 1 o'clock.
