Hippert, Narcisse, Jones Earn DII/III All-New England Writers Accolades

 

Manchester, NH --- Senior Casey Hippert (Douglas, MA) along with junior Bryan Narcisse (Medway, MA) and teammate Kemani Jones (Milton, MA) were tabbed to the New England Writers Division II/III All-Star team as announced by organization publicist Roger Crosley.

With three from Worcester State who were tabbed with prestigious All-New England laurels, the Lancers had the most recognized on the squad and it ties the most WSU has ever had honored by the New England Writers.

The trio will be honored at the New England Football Writers Captains and Awards Banquet on Thursday, December 11 at the Montvale Plaza in Stoneham.

Hippert earned the lone tight-end spot for his standout play during the course of the 2014 campaign. He pulled down 50 receptions for 764 yards and five scores which were all among the top 10 in the MASCAC standings.

Through the first week of the NCAA Division III Football Tournament playoffs, Hippert was ranked second at his position in overall receiving yards and receiving yards per game (84.9 YPG).

Hippert also wrapped up is Worcester State career second in receiving yardage (2,598 yards), third in receptions (159) and fourth with 20 touchdown catches.

Narcisse had a sensational senior season at defensive end for the Blue and Gold as he topped the MASCAC in sacks (12.5) and tackles for a loss (21) while also adding 83 tackles (56 solo), one forced fumble, one interception and a pair of pass break-ups.

As of this past week Narcisse moved into third place on the national list in sacks per game (1.25) and he is eighth in tackles per loss per game (2.10) while leading New England in both categories.

With a school-record 1,275 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns, Jones had a break-out campaign at tail back for the Lancers. In addition to having the best average yards per rush in the MASCAC (6.0), he ended the year leading the region in average all-purpose yardage (179.2 YPG) and he hauled in 33 catches for 392 yards and two scores.

In just one season, Jones moved from 16th to fourth place in WSU's all-time rushing list as he now has 1,994 yards for 23 touchdowns in 26 games. He is also among the top 20 nationally in rushing yardage per game (127.5 YPG), going over the 100 yard mark in eight games this season.

Prior to the accomplishments of this years team, 1996 was the campaign which saw the most Lancers recognized with All-New England certificates as Adam Bernard (OL), Scott Holland (LB) and Ron Polumbo (RET) all found spots on the team.

Under the direction of 32nd year head coach Brien Cullen, the Lancers went 7-3, finished the MASCAC regular season in third place and ranked eighth in the final Division III New England Football Poll.
