Moore Notches Pair as Field Hockey Wins In OT

In the second match-up of the day, Worcester State junior midfielder Erin Moore (Brimfield, MA) scored the winning goal just 3:34 into the first overtime to give the Golden Bears the 2-1 victory. She was assisted on the goal by junior Karla Rotondi (Tewksbury, MA).

For Moore, it was her second goal of the day. She had scored an unassisted goal with 20:28 left in the first half, giving WSC a 1-0 lead at the intermission.

Brockport freshman forward Taryn Rossi (Webster, NY) scored a goal early in the second half to tie matters at 1-all. That goal was assisted by junior forward Kaileen Balzano (Johnstown, NY).

Sophomore Katherine Masterjohn (Warren, MA) was in net for Worcester State, while freshman Kasey Schreiner (Hamburg, NY) was the goalkeeper for Brockport. Masterjohn recorded two saves, while Scheiner recorded 12. 

WSC outshot Brockport 17-3 while they also enjoyed a 11-2 advantage in penalty corners.

Tomorrow the Lancers will play Springfield in championship round at 1 PM the Dot Zenaty Invitational while WNEC takes on the Golden Eagles at 11 AM.
