Fitchburg State 1, Worcester State 0

Fitchburg, MA --- Senior Mari Roma (Foxborough, MA) registered her second goal of the season to lead Fitchburg State past Worcester State University, 1-0 in Little East Conference action this afternoon.

Both goalies played exceptionally well with Lancer junior Kat Masterjohn (Warren, MA) posting a game-high 13 stops between the pipes. Masterjohn was tested throughout the contest with Fitchburg State holding a 23-3 advantage in shots and 13-2 margin in corners. Her Fitchburg State counterpart, sophomore Abbie Brown (Westwood, MA)  mirrored Masterjohn throughout the game, posting her first shutout of the season with one save in the complete game effort.                            

Fitchburg State (2-2, 1-1 LEC) will be in action again on Wednesday as it hosts Rivier College at 4 PM Worcester State (2-4, 1-1 LEC) will visit WPI on Tuesday at 7 PM.
