McPherson Named To All-Little East Third-Team

North Dartmouth, MA --- Sophomore midfielder Kelli McPherson (Mansfield, MA) has been selected to the All-Little East Conference third-team in a vote by the leagues 12 head coaches this past week as announced by conference publicist Jack Holleran.

McPherson led the squad with four goals and finished second in points with eight. She tallied once in a 2-1 overtime setback to Westfield State and contributed a pair of goals in a 4-3 extra session loss to Fitchburg State.

In addition to jump-starting the squad on many offensive opportunities in midfield, McPherson also aided the cause on the defensive side of the ball. She pitched in with one defensive save in a 3-1 loss against Clark and helped set a new team record for defensive stops with 18 - a total that is 14th in the NCAA Division III and fifth in New England.

After a solid first-year campaign in 2011, McPherson now boosts two-year totals of six goals and two assists for 14 points.

A two-sport athlete, McPhearson looks to contribute once again to the women's basketball team this winter. Last season she averaged 2.1 points per game in 27 contests as the first shooting guard off the bench.

The field hockey team under the direction of first-year head coach Chris Pothier finished the season at 3-15 and 1-10 in LEC play.
