McPherson Tabbed Little East Offensive Player of the Week

 

N. Dartmouth, MA --- Junior Kelli McPherson (Mansfield, MA) has been selected as the Little East Conference Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week to help lead the Lancers to a 2-0 mark to start off the season.

McPherson registered eight points, on three goals and two assists, including her first career hat-trick in a 5-1 triumph over Salve Regina while also adding a helper in the Lancers season-opening 6-0 victory over Elms.

With eight points to her credit on the young campaign, McPherson is currently tied for sixth in the Little East Conference which is just four off of the leader.

Last season, McPherson was recognized with Little East Conference Third-team accolades for leading the team with four goals. For her career, McPherson is just three points shy of joining the 25-point club with nine career goals and four assists.

McPherson, who also doubles as a shooting guard on the women's basketball team, averaged 4.1 points and hit 21 three-pointers in 26 games to help lead the Lancers to the MASCAC Tournament Semifinals.  

Worcester State will play a trio of games in the next week starting with New England College on Tuesday (7 PM), Anna Maria on Thursday and their LEC opener against Plymouth State at 11 AM on Saturday.
