WORCESTER, Mass. - The Worcester State University 2019 field hockey was officially released on Friday afternoon.
Worcester State's schedule features 19 contests in 2019, opening on the road against Anna Maria on August 31. When the teams met a season ago, Worcester State prevailed at home by a final score of 5-1. Anna Maria is the first of seven non-conference opponents for the Lancers on the season.
The Lancers will play their first game on the newly renovated Coughlin Field on Thursday, September 5 with a non-conference showdown against Wellesley College. The game will be the first meeting between the Lancers and the Blue since the 2001 ECAC Tournament.
A little over a week later, Worcester State will play its first Little East game of the season, welcoming UMass Dartmouth to Coughlin Field on Saturday, September 14. Other games to watch on the schedule include Senior Day, which the Lancers will host on Saturday, October 19 against Eastern Connecticut State, and a battle with reigning LEC Champion Keene State on the road on Wednesday, October 23.
The regular season will conclude on November 2 when Worcester State travels to Western Connecticut State, and the LEC Tournament will begin on November 5.
