
Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Field Hockey team has one named to the MASCAC weekly honors, as junior Madison Ferrara (Somerset, MA) was named the MASCAC Defensive Player of the Week. Ferrara held down the cage in the Lancers 4-0 victory over Westfield State on September 15th. The game also served to kick off the inaugural season of the MASCAC Field Hockey conference.
Ferrara made six saves with a 1.000 save percentage for the shutout in the Lancers’ 4-0 MASCAC season-opening win over Westfield State.
Also being recognized in the MASCAC Honor Roll was senior Zoe Athanasopoulos (Hopedale, MA) who tallied a goal and recorded an assist in the victory.
The Lancers are back in action tomorrow, September 19th, at 7pm when they host Wheaton College on Coughlin Field in an out-of-conference matchup.
