Buzzards Bay, MA --- Junior Dane Jobst (Athol, MA) has received the nod as this week's MASCAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for his stellar contributions in a pair of wins for Worcester State. 

Jobst was also recognized as the first WSU student-athlete this season to recieve Worcester Area County Basketball Association (WACBA) weekly laurels.

Jobst averaged a double-double effort of 24.5 points and 15.5 boards which included 22 points and 20 rebounds in a hard-fought 85-69 victory over Clark and he finished off his week with 27 points and 11 caroms in an 82-58 win over Regis.

He also shot 57 percent from the field (17-for-30) and 81 percent from the foul line (13-for-16).

The impact transfer from St. Joseph's (Vermont) has had a strong start to his first campaign as a Lancer. With four-game averages of 24.0 points per game and 11.3 rebounds, Jobst currently leads the MASCAC in both categories.

Jobst is also sixth in the conference in three point percentage (.429 – 6-for-14), ninth in field goal percentage (.525) and 13th in free throw percentage (.718).

The Blue and Gold are currently 3-1 and off to their best start since the 1999-2000 campaign.

After traveling to UMass Dartmouth for a road game at 7 tomorrow, they will take on Western Connecticut at home on Thursday at 7 PM before traveling to St. John Fisher on Sunday for a 3 o'clock matchup.
