Jobst Tabbed MASCAC Basketball Player of the Week

Buzzards Bay, MA --- For the second time this season, junior Dane Jobst (Athol, MA) has been named MASCAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for a pair of standout performances in a 1-1 week for Worcester State.

Jobst averaged 26.5 points and 16.5 rebounds as he also connected for 53 percent from the field for the week (21-for-40).

Jobst things off by logging a career-best 40 points to go with 14 boards in a 95-88 setback to Nichols before he finished with 13 points and 19 caroms in a 66-62 overtime triumph over Springfield.

In their setback to the Bison, Jobst also became the first WSU men's basketball player since 1993 to net 40 points in a game since Lancer Hall of Famer Al Pettway netted 44 points against Framingham State.

Through the end of the fall semester, Jobst currently leads the MASCAC in both scoring (19.9 PPG) and rebounding (12.2 RPG). His .512 field goal percentage is also sixth in the conference after his first nine games of play.

Among NCAA Division III leaders as of December 16, Jobst is sixth in the nation in average rebounding (1st in New England) and 48th in average scoring (8th in New England).

The Lancers will play again after the new year when they travel to unbeaten Albertus Magnus on Thursday, January 2 for a 7 PM matchup.
