Kansas City, MO --- Junior Dane Jobst (Athol, MA) has been recognized for his outstanding achievements on the court and in the classroom as one of the members of the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court, which was announced by league publicist Rick Leddy.

The NABC Honors Court recognizes student-athletes in all divisions who are in their junior or seniors semester who have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or higher, played at least one year at their current school. Over 700 student-athletes from NCAA Division I, II and III along with Divisions I and II of the NAIA were included on the list.

In his first semester at Worcester State as a junior, Jobst achieved an outstanding GPA of 3.88 for the 2012-13 academic year with a major in criminal justice. He was one of 25 student-athletes from Division III New England and the only representative from the MASCAC to receive the prestigious laurels.

Jobst was an impact transfer from St. Joseph's (Vermont) who averaged 16.5 points per game and 12.1 rebounds in 25 contests. In addition to earning All-MASCAC second-team laurels, he led the conference in average boards per contest and his scoring was third in the eight-team league.

In the final NCAA Division III statistical standings, Jobst had the fifth-best average caroms and the seventh best total nationally (314) while his 17 double-doubles were second in the country.

The Lancers are coached by 20th year head coach Dave Lindberg who wrapped up the 2012-13 campaign at 12-14 before falling in the MASCAC Tournament quarterfinals.

The NABC will announce its Team Academic Excellence Awards on Thursday, July 18.
