Rintel Receives Nod to All-MASCAC Team

Buzzards Bay, MA --- Worcester State senior forward Mark Rintel (Oakland Gardens, NY) has been tabbed to the All-MASCAC second team as announced by conference publicist Jim Seavey after voting by the seven leagues head coaches earlier this week.

Rintel led the team in goals (13), assists (17) and points (30) while he finished with eight markers, 11 helpers for 21 points in 18 MASCAC games. Rintel ranked among the top 20 in the conference as his points were tied for ninth, his assists were tied for 10th and his goals were tied for 15th.

Rintel was the first player to notch 30 points in a season since the 2002-03 campaign when Matt Cruikshank and Jeff Urban registered 38 and 34 points, respectively.

With 83 points (38 G- 45 A) in 70 games, Rintel ends his career tied with John Mattison (1974-78) for 25th on the Worcester State's all-time scoring list.

Plymouth State's Chris Chambers (Crofton, MD) was voted the MASCAC Player of the Year while Salem State freshman Nick Lampson (Groton, MA) was named the Rookie of the Year. Fitchburg State head coach Dean Fuller was selected by his peers as the Coach of the Year.

The Lancers finished the season 5-19-2 overall and 3-13-2 in MASCAC play under the direction of 17th year head coach John Guiney. WSC lost in the quarterfinal round of the conference tournament to Plymouth State, 7-3.
