Stanley Selected MASCAC Men's Ice Hockey Player of the Week

 

Westfield, MA --- For the second time this season, senior Nathan Stanley (Meridian, ID/Idaho Jr. Steelheads) has been named MASCAC Ice Hockey Player of the Week for his standout efforts in a 3-0 week for Worcester State.

Stanley collected eight points on four goals and four assists including two tallies and a pair of helpers in a 5-3 victory over local rival Assumption before he added one goal and two assists in a 5-4 triumph over Westfield State.

To date, Stanley is enjoying his finest year in a Lancer uniform as he has registered team-highs of 11 goals and 10 assists for 21 points, with seven markers coming by way of the extra man advantage and three tallies alone this past week.

Among overall leaders in the MASCAC, Stanley is fourth in power play points (11), tied for seventh in goals and 14th in total points.

With his outstanding four-year total of 31 goals and 41 dishes for 72 career points, he is just three points away from etching his name in the top 35 on Worcester State's all-time ice hockey scoring list.

Stanley was named the inaugural MASCAC Player of the Week on November 4 for registering his first career hat-trick.

This week the Lancers (7-14-2, 5-10-1 MASCAC) have two key home games at the Hart Recreation Center with 8 PM puck drops. Worcester State takes on Salem State this Tuesday before closing out the regular season with Framingham State this Thursday on "Senior Night."
