Weaver Named to D3Hockey.com Team of the Week

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. - Worcester State University men's ice hockey senior defenseman Cody Weaver (West Greenwich, R.I.) has been named to the D3hockey.com National Team of the Week. The announcement was made on Friday morning.

Cody Weaver became the first defenseman to claim MASCAC Player of the Week honors since December 11, 2017 with four points on the week, all coming in a dramatic 4-3 win over Westfield State last Thursday. Weaver tallied two goals and two assists, including a helper on the game-winning goal with 3.4 seconds left on the clock.

It is the third time this season that a Lancer has received national recognition from D3hockey.com. Senior Mike Moran (Milford, Mass.) and freshman Ryan Hoff (Brockton, Mass.) were both named to D3hockey.com Team of the Week on January 11 and February 14, respectively.

Weaver will be on the ice Saturday evening as the Lancers face Fitchburg State in the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference quarterfinal matchup. Puck drop from Worcester Ice Center is set for 5:40 p.m.
