
Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Men's Ice Hockey team has been picked seventh in the 2024-25 preseason poll as voted on by the conference coaches. After finishing last season battling UMass-Dartmouth to a 4-2 loss in the MASCAC Quarterfinals, Worcester is restocked and ready to make another run to the Championship. Senior Drew Eid returns to action this season along side Brian Clougherty, Jakub Kubik and Wyatt Friedlander to help lead the Worcester charge to victory.
Plymouth State repeats in the top spot with 81 points and nine of the first-place votes, ahead of Fitchburg State with 76 points. Newcomer Anna Maria grabs the last first place vote and 64 points for a third-place finish as UMass-Dartmouth sits in fourth with 55 points. Westfield State finished fifth with 49 points ahead of another new addition, Rivier, who just edged out the sixth spot with 38 points edging out the Lancers with 29.
The Lancers had seven wins in league play last season. Brian Clougherty collected five goals and seven assists for 12 points while draining a game-winning goal and a power play goal for the team.
Salem State sits in eight with 27 points while Framingham at 17 and MCLA at 14 closing out this year's conference preseason rankings.
