Hawk's Win In Final Seconds in 1-0 Victory Over Mens' Soccer

Leicester, MA --- With 22 seconds remaining in regulation, Becker College defeated cross town rival Worcester State 1-0 in men's soccer action this evening.

In the first half, both squads remained gridlocked, but the Lancers outshot Becker 8-5. Senior Constantino Partramanis (Worcester, MA.) had many opportunities to put the Lancers ahead early, but Hawk goalkeeper Aaron Fill (Delta, B.C) made five fantastic saves, keeping the game deadlocked at the half.

At the start of the second stanza, both teams continued their defensive battle. With just 22 seconds remaining in regulation, James Diossa (Central Falls, RI) connected with Dircilino DeBrito (New Bedford, MA) for the game winner. Diossa passed between two Worcester State defenders finding DeBrito down the middle of the field.

WSC sophomore Evan Wilga (Dudley, MA) made four saves in his first start of the year while Fill made nine stops for his second shutout of the season.

Becker (7-6-1) will host NECC rival Elms on Saturday at 2 while  Worcester State (4-8-2) will host Westfield State on Saturday at 12:00 PM.
