Babineau Named MASCAC Men's Soccer Player of the Week

Buzzards Bay, MA --- Worester State senior forward Andrew Babineau has been selected as MASCAC Men's Soccer Player of the Week for his efforts in a triumph over Westfield State this past Saturday.

Babineau, a product of Webster, MA, netted a pair of goals – including the game-winning tally – in their 3-1 win against the Owls. The victory enabled the Lancers to move into a three-way tie for second place in the conference standings with Westfield State and Bridgewater State.

Prior to this week Babineau had yet to register a point this season as he now is tied for second on the team with two markers and he is tied for fourth with four points. In 50 career games, Babineau has six markers and three helpers for 15 points.

Worcester State is on a three game unbeaten streak (2-0-1) and 4-5-2 overall (2-1-1 MASCAC). The Lancers will play twice on the road starting with St. Joseph's of Maine on Wednesday at 3:30 and Mass Maritime on Saturday at noon.
