Men's Track Takes Home 17th At Division III New England Championships

Lewiston, ME --- Sophomore Nate Starling (Braintree, MA) clocked fourth with a time of 7.92 in the 55 meter dash to help lead the men's indoor track and field team to a 17th place finish at the Division III New England Championships at Bates College.

Classmate Ian Fields (Shrewsbury, MA) notched eighth in the high jump (1.83 meters) while junior RJ Stahelski (S. Deerfield, MA) eclipsed his own record in the 600 (1:24.34).

Senior James Macera (Paxton, MA) tossed 12th in the weight throw (15.33m) while classmate Matt Leeds (Bellingham, MA) leaped 18th in the long jump (6.10m).

The 4x400 relay team of Stahelski, Fields and freshman teammates Jon Parella (Wilmington, MA) and Todd Paquin (Pelham, NH) placed 13th with a time of 3:33.90.

MIT tallied 132.5 points for the top spot followed by Williams (109), Tufts (65) and Amherst (63) while the Lancers notched six points as Fields and Starling garnered the only All-Division III New England accolades for WSC.

Starling looks to improve his times in the 55 meter dash and 55 meter hurdles next week at the All-New England Championships.
