Crawford, Arzu Help Lead Men’s Indoor Track at Tufts Stampede Invitational

Medford, MA --- Freshman Devlin Crawford (Randolph, MA) continued to impress as he sprinted to second in the 400 meter dash (51.15) and fourth in the 200 (23.33) while sophomore Julio Arzu (Lynn, MA) added sixth in the 60 with a blistering time of 7.17 to help pace the men's indoor track and field team at the non-scoring Tufts Stampede Invitational.

Freshman Brian Espinosa (Rehoboth, MA) had a solid meet by taking home fifth in the long jump (6.22 meters) and tying for 14th in the triple jump (12.28m). Sophomore Todd Paquin (Pelham, NH) also notched sixth in the long jump (6.15m).
First-year Marlon Webb (Templeton, MA) had three solid events as he finished 11th in both the 60 meters (7.30) and 200 (23.74) before he ended the meet with 15th in the long jump (5.68m).

The throwers were propelled by sophomore Harrison McCann (Rutland, MA) who tossed seventh in the weight throw (14.53m) and 15th in the shot put (11.75m) while junior Nick Capone (Billerica, MA) placed 10th in the shot put (13.09m) and 16th in the weight (12.81m).

Second-year Andrew Mattis (Canton, MA) also registered 15th in the weight throw as he measured a distance of 12.87 meters while classmate Andrew Garcia (Brea, CA) cleared 3.55 meters to tie for 14th in the pole vault.

Senior RJ Stahelski (S. Deerfield, MA) timed 15th in the 600 (1:26.41) before he placed 20th in the 200 (24.19) as freshman Kevin Maciel (Tewksbury, MA) tallied 16th in the 200 (23.94).

Sophomore Jon Parrella (Wilmington, MA) clocked 18th in the 60 meter hurdles (9.82) as the distance runners were propelled by first-year Neil Reilly (Oxford, MA) and second-year Kerry Sabanty (Stoughton, MA) who each placed 22nd and 31st, respectively, in the 1000 (2:49.63) and the 800 (2:09.69).

The men's indoor team will spend the week gearing up and preparing for the MASCAC/New England Alliance championships at Southern Maine next Saturday.
