Amherst, MA --- Senior Mark Johnson (Woburn, MA) earned honors in the javelin throw while freshman Mara Kralian (Grafton, MA) eclipsed her own school record in the 100 meter dash as the Worcester State outdoor track and field teams competed at the All-New England Championships hosted by UMass Amherst.

Johnson and Kralian were the top Division III finishers in their events as Johnson hurled eighth place in the javelin throw with a season-best toss of 56.05 meters while Kralian reset the school record she set at the MASCAC Championships as she placed 16th with a time of 12.49.

Johnson also took 22nd in the 200 meter dash (22.75) and 23rd in the 100 meter dash (11.30) while Kralian took tenth in the long jump (5.37m). Kralian's leap in the long jump was .10 meters away from provisionally qualifying for the NCAA Outdoor Championships.

Freshman Brittany Stoddard (Orange, MA) was the fifth best finisher in the javelin as she tossed 33.66 meters for 18th place.

Select members of the track and field team will participate next week at the ECAC Championships as Kralian, Johnson and sophomore Andrea Ouellette (Salisbury, MA) will try to qualify for the NCAA Championships.
