Buzzards Bay, MA --- Senior RJ Stahelski (S. Deerfield, MA) has received the nod as this week's MASCAC Men's Track Athlete of the Week for a standout performance for Worcester State at the MIT Spring Invitational.
Stahelski took home first in the 400 meters (50.30) and placed sixth in the 200 meters (22.84) before he ran the anchor leg of the third place 4x400 meter relay (3:30.50).
Stahelski, the school record holder in the 600 meters, had a stellar start to his outdoor season as he was 0.57 seconds off of provisionally stamping his ticket to the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships as he clocked a time of 49.47 in the 400.
He is currently ranked seventh in New England in the event and 14th with his time this weekend in the 200 meters.
The Lancers will compete again next week at the Silfen Invitational, hosted by Connecticut College.
