MASCAC Weekly Men's Track & Field Release
Buzzards Bay, MA --- Worcester State junior Harrison McCann (Rutland, MA/Wachusett) has been named MASCAC Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the week for his outstanding efforts this past weekend at the Worcester City Meet.
McCann took home top honors in the hammer throw (47.22m/154-11) before he placed second both the discus (38.89m/127-07) and the shot put (13.04m/42-09.50). McCann's distance in the hammer was good enough to qualify for the Division III New England Championships.
This past indoor season McCann was an All-MASCAC/Alliance point scorer for the Lancers as he placed fourth in the weight throw to help lead the Lancers to second at the conference championships and fourth in the final New England Alliance standings.
This past indoor season, McCann was an all-conference honoree for the Lancers as he finished third in the weight throw in the MASCAC and fourth in final New England Alliance standings.
WSU will head to Fitchburg State next weekend to compete at the Jim Sheehan Invitational.
