Paquin Wraps Up Career With Solid Finish In 100 Meters At NCAA Championships

Delaware, OH --- Senior Todd Paquin (Pelham, NH) placed 17th out of 20 entrants in the 100 meter trials at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Ohio Weslyean at Selby Stadium.

Paquin notched a time of 10.87 as the only competitor from New England in a deep pool that included some of the best sprinters in the nation.

The standout, who missed the entire 2012-13 track season with a foot injury, solidified his spot at the meet with a 10.67, which was second overall at the Open New England Championships on May 10 which was held at Westfield State.

Paquin also had a time of 10.72 as the 13th individual champion the week before at the Division III New England Championships at Springfield.

Junior Terrence Gibson (Rockland, MA), who was the fourth overall seed in the 110 meter hurdles, did not compete this evening after an injury sustained during yesterday's 4x100 meter relay race.

Paquin's race concludes the season for the men's outdoor track and field team.

Thursday's Recap:  "Men's 4x100 Meter Relay Competes At NCAA Division III Championships"

Delaware, OH --- The 4x100 men's relay team of junior Duy Truong (Worcester, MA/Doherty), senior Todd Paquin (Pelham, NH), junior Matthew Alley (Milford, MA) and classmate Terrence Gibson (Rockland, MA) competed at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Ohio Wesleyan this evening at Selby Stadium.

The four teamed up for a time of 41.85 which was good for 16th overall.

The 4x100 meter relay had set the school record two weeks ago with second overall at the Open New England Championships (41.56) and beat out Bridgewater State's best split of the campaign (41.64) to be the lone squad from the region in the competition at the National meet.

The 4x100 relay is the first Worcester State men's team to compete at the NCAA Division III Championships since the mile relay that included three Lancer Hall of Famers, which ran at Baldwin-Wallace in 1975 and set a program standard.
