Boston, MA --- Paced by freshman Alex Droby (Uxbridge, MA) the Worcester State Men's Cross Country team placed 9th overall at the Emmanuel Saints Invtational held at Franklin Park. Droby placed 31st overall with a time of 28:02.
Sophomore Justin Hunt (Salem, MA) was the next highestet finsher in 57th (29:33) while freshman Tim Mazeika (Millbury, MA) took 62nd (29:55). Senior Norman Everett (W. Bridgewater, MA) and first-year Jimmy Walker (Tyngsboro, MA) rounded out the field in 72nd (30:44) and 85th (31:36), respectively.
There were 150 total entrants competing from 17 different institutions. MIT took the top spot with 20 points followed by Johnson & Wales (79) and Babson (131). Salem State edged out the Lancers for eighth place by a total of 15 points.
Worcester State will compete next weekend at the MASCAC Championships hosted by Westfield State at Stanley Park.
