Men's Cross Country Places Third At Tri-States Invitational

Warwick, RI --- Freshman Neil Reilly (Oxford, MA) ran a time of 29:10 in 13th place to help the Worcester State University men's cross country team finish third at the Tri-States Invitational hosted by CCRI on their Flanagan Campus on Saturday.

WPI captured their second consecutive meet win with 16 points after they won the City Championships last week followed by Clark (59), the Lancers (79) and CCRI (100).

First-year Pat Daley (Millbury, MA) finished in 21st (30:09) while sophomore Greg Babiec (Worcester, MA/Doherty), junior Kerry Sabanty (Stoughton, MA) and freshman Dan Anderson (Sutton, MA) each recorded 35th (30:53), 36th (30:55) and 37th (30:59), respecitively. Freshman Zach Creeden (Billerica, MA) collected 48th (32:08) as junior Eric Thulin (Millbury, MA) rounded the top seven as he clocked 50th (32:24).

Worcester State takes a week long break as they will hit the trails again on Friday, October 15th when they head to the Emmanuel Saints Invitational at Franklin Park.
