Men's Cross Country Finishes Seventh At Emmanuel Saints Invitational

Boston, MA --- Freshman teammates Neil Reilly (Oxford, MA) and Pat Daley (Millbury, MA) placed in 28th (28:51) and 29th (28:56), respectively, to help lead the Worcester State men's cross country team take home seventh at the Emmanuel Saints Invitational which was run this afternoon at Franklin Park.

Johnson & Wales walked away with the first-place trophy with 40 points followed by Babson (62), the hosting Saints (99) while the Lancers tallied 197 points to edge out Lesley's score of 201. 15 teams from around New England competed in the face.

Reilly was the ninth best freshman finisher while Daley was the 10th highest.

First-year Dan Anderson (Sutton, MA) added 47th (30:15) as sophomore Tim Mazeika (Millbury, MA) notched 51st with a time of 30:21. Second-year Greg Babiec (Worcester, MA/Doherty) clocked 56th (30:58) while freshman Zach Creeden (Billerica, MA) notched 62nd (31:23) and sophomore Kerry Sabanty (Stoughton, MA) rounded out the top seven for WSU with a finish of 69th place (31:49).

The Blue and Gold look to hit the trail next Saturday when they head to Westfield State for the MASCAC Championships.
