Men's Cross Country Finishes Tied For Second At Tri-State Invitational

Lincoln, RI --- Sophomore Pat Daley (Millbury, MA) paced the Worcester State men's cross country team on the 8k Flanagan Campus Course with a time of 27:10 to take home fourth place and help lead the Lancers to second overall at the Tri-State Invitational this morning.

Mitchell College won the event with a team score of 49 points while the Blue and Gold and Community College of Rhode Island both had 54 points, but WSU won the tiebreaker based on the higher finish of their sixth place finisher. The Lancers would have five in the top 15 and seven in the top 20.

Clark finished in fourth with 68 points while Anna Maria finished in fifth with 124. Freshman Robert Allen (Cranston, RI) of CCRI won the event with a time of 25:04.

Worcester State had consecutive 11th through 14th place times. Junior Michael Berkowicz (Whitinsville, MA) finished with a time of 28:46 followed by freshman Patrick Bova (Princeton, MA) who posted a time of 28:55. Juniors Tim Mazeika (Millbury, MA) and Kerry Sabanty (Stoughton, MA) clocked 29:03 and 29:10, respectively.

Sophomore Zach Creeden (Billerica, MA) and freshman Adam Pepin (Paxton, MA) rounded out the top seven for the Lancers with 19th (29:55) and 20th (30:16).

The Lancers' next meet will be next Saturday at the James Earley Invitational at Westfield State's Stanley Park.
