Men's Cross Country Places Fifth At Worcester City Meet



Paxton, MA --- Junior Pat Daley (Millbury, MA) timed 27th (30:02) as he helped lead Worcester State to fifth place at the Worcester City Meet on Saturday morning at Moore State Park's five mile course.

The Engineers won their 40th City Meet title since 1967 with 20 points. Assumption came in second with 52 points followed by Clark (76), Fitchburg State (87) and WSU's tally of 127 points.

Sophomore Wesley Hebert (Leominster, MA) added 32nd (30:47) while senior Kerry Sabanty (Stoughton, MA) was just three seconds off in 33rd (30:51).

Junior Connor O'Neill (Dudley, MA) placed 37th (31:25), freshman Marc George (Framingham, MA) tacked on 38th (31:29) and first-year Brendan Blair (Tewksbury, MA) notched 40th (31:37).

Sophomore Patrick Bova (Princeton, MA) rounded out the group with 42nd place (31:47).

Next week the Lancers head to the Tri-State Meet hosted by CCRI.
