Bova Leads Men's Cross Country to Fourth Place Finish at MASCAC Championships

 

Westfield, MA --- Sophomore Patrick Bova (Princeton, MA) finished in 20th position with a time of 28:14 as he helped Worcester State claim fourth place at the MASCAC/Alliance Cross Country Championships this morning at Stanley Park.

Bridgewater State earned the team crown with 27 points followed by Westfield State (38), Fitchburg State (71) and the Lancers scored 110 points to round out the top four squads. WSU also finished ninth out of 13 institutions in the New England Alliance standings.

Senior Tim Mazeika (Millbury, MA) finished four competitors behind Bova, registering 24th overall (28:30).

Third-year Pat Daley (Millbury, MA), junior Connor O'Neill (Dudley, MA), senior Kerry Sabanty (Stoughton, MA) all crossed the finish line in 29th (29:01), 31st (29:05) and 32nd (29:33), respectively.

Freshman Brendan Blair (Tewksbury, MA) added 47th (30:31) and classmate Marc George (Framingham, MA) placed 54th to close out the top seven for the Blue and Gold.

The Lancers get back to action in two weeks when they return to Stanley Park to participate in the Division III New England Cross Country Championships.
