Phillips, Bangs Pace Men's Cross Country At UMass Dartmouth

 

N. Dartmouth, MA --- Freshmen classmates Brady Phillips (Uxbridge, MA) and Jason Bangs (Charlton, MA) both put up solid times to help pace the Worcester State men's cross country team to 24th place at the UMass Dartmouth Shriners Invitational. 

Phillips finished in 71st (26:59.30) while Bangs took 117th (27:49.58). Senior Wesley Hebert (Leominster, MA) added 156th (28:38.70) followed by freshman Daniel Brunelle (Dracut, MA) who registered 169th (28:58.38) and first-year teammate Devin Luce (Milford, MA) in 170th (29:00.20) just seconds behind.

Sophomore Will Whearty (Walpole, MA) crossed the line in 186th (29:39.75) and freshman Bryant Va (Lowell, MA/Greater Lowell Tech) rounded out the top seven with 198th (30:01.43).

In the sub-varsity race, senior Patrick Bova (Princeton, MA), freshman Ariel Torres (N. Andover, MA) and senior Adam Pepin (Paxton, MA) finished 77th (29:23.90), 100th (30:20.62) and 102nd (30:24.09), respectively.

The Lancers will compete again next week at the annual Worcester City Championships held at Moore State Park.
