Men's cross country takes 2nd overall at Tri-State Invitational

Lincoln, R.I., The Worcester State men's cross country team finished in second place out of seven teams at the Tri-State Invitational at the Community College of Rhode Island.  Senior captain Drew Fottler (Chelmsford, MA) set the pace in the challenging 8k race run in Lincoln, RI. Fottler ran a 26:57:80, missing first overall by just 13 seconds. 

Seconds after Fottler was senior Patrick Carleton (Tewksbury, MA), running to a team 2nd and an overall 3rd place finish with a time of 27:05:54. Coming in the 3rd for the Lancers was senior Wayne Carey (Shrewsbury, MA) with a time of 28:52:11. Carey finished 8th overall to medal. 

The pack of senior Ethan Goodreau (Spencer, MA) (30:53:64), junior Daniel Clark (Worcester, MA) (30:54:07) and senior Sam Magee (Salem, MA) (30:55:44) finished together to solidify the 2nd place team finish. The pack averaged just above the 6-minute average mile marker.  

The Lancers return to action on Saturday, October 9th at Westfield State.
