Buzzards Bay, MA --- Sophomore southpaw Michaella
Mahoney has been named MASCAC Softball Pitcher of the Week
after she posted a 4-2 record this past week for Worcester
State.
Mahoney, who hails from Shewsbury, MA, posted a 0.50 Earned Run
Average with three earned runs in 42 innings of work to go along
with 43 strikeouts. Mahoney hurled a 2-0 one-hit triumph over MCLA
after tossing a 2-0 three-hit victory over Fitchburg State earlier
in the week. She also held opponents to a .168 batting average
(22-for-149) on the week.
Mahoney (8-7) has paced the Lancers with a 1.26 ERA with 117
strikeouts in 117 innings of work. Mahoney also has a complete game
in every one of her 16 starts while she has three shutouts this
season. As of Sunday, Mahoney was first in the conference in ERA,
games started, complete games while she is also second in
strikeouts, fourth in wins and third in shutouts.
The Lancers will take the diamond on Monday in a key MASCAC
double-header against Framingham State at 1 PM.
