Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Softball team had one named to the MASCAC weekly awards in the second week of the season. First year Morgan Keefe (Dracut, MA) was named the Rookie of the Week by the MASCAC. The Softball team has opened their season with their spring break trip down to North Myrtle Beach, SC, going 8-2 on the trip.
Keefe batted .692 (9-13) with a double, four RBI, three runs scored, a walk and two stolen bases in a 5-1 week for the Lancers. Went 4-for-4 with two RBI, two stolen bases and a run scored in the 9-1 win over Keene State. Was 1-for-2 with a walk, RBI and a walk in the 7-5 win over Muhlenberg and 3-for-3 with a double and RBI in the 8-7 setback to Mount Aloysius during their spring break trip.
The Lancers are back in action on Tuesday when they head to Lasell tomorrow for a 3pm double header set.
