Herring Named WACBA Player of the Week

WORCESTER, Mass. - Just a matter of hours after being named the New England Women's Basketball Association Player of the Week, Worcester State senior center Brittany Herring (West Brookfield, Mass.) has been named the Player of the Week by the Worcester Area College Basketball Association.

Herring produced 25 points (on 80% shooting) and 11 rebounds per game as the Lancers went 1-1 last week and secured the top seed in the upcoming MASCAC Tournament for the first time in program history. She recorded 18 points, seven boards, three assists & one steal on Wednesday in a 79-54 victory over Bridgewater State. Herring then turned in a 32-point, 15-rebound double-double with three blocks and two steals on Saturday in an 82-77 road loss to Westfield State. She connected on 20-of-25 field goal attempts for the week. 

Herring's Lancers will be back in action for the MASCAC Semifinals on Thursday evening. Tip-off from John P. Brissette Court is slated for 7 p.m.
