WESTFIELD, Mass. - Worcester State University women's basketball freshman Charlotte MacMillan (Brunswick, Maine) has been named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league on Monday afternoon.
MacMillan was red hot this week, averaging 18.5 points per game in a pair of non-conference contests. MacMillan opened the week with 16 points in a loss to Wellesley on Tuesday, before scoring 21 points in a win over MIT on Wednesday. MacMillan hit 11 three-pointers in the two games, and scored 17 of her 37 points on the week in the fourth quarter.
The freshman is the second Lancer to receive the award this season. Freshman Erin Gallella (Tewksbury, Mass.) earned the honor on November 11.
MacMillan and the Lancers will close the 2019 calendar year on Tuesday night with a non-conference contest against Springfield College. Tip-off from John P. Brissette Court is slated for 6 p.m.
