Worcester, MA- With the return of MASCAC play this past Saturday, the Worcester Women’s Basketball team was again honored with a Rookie of the Week selection. For the fourth time this season, Lena Waldron (Quincy, MA) has been selected for the honor.
Waldron Tallied eight points, six rebounds, two steals and an assist in the Lancers’ 81-77 setback to Fitchburg State in their lone game of the week. Waldron currently has 122 points, 80 rebounds with 15 assists and 15 steals currently on the season.
Also recognized by the MASCAC was senior Katie Hurynowicz (Tyngsboro, MA) who was named to the MASCAC weekly honor roll after recording her fourth double-double of the season in the conference opener versus Fitchburg State. She Scored 27 points with 12 rebounds, two steals, two blocks and an assist in the setback. Currently in the season, Hurynowicz has scored 202 points with 107 rebounds, 36 assists and 27 steals.
The Lancers return to action tomorrow, January 9th, at 12pm for their 14th annual Math Madness game, which this year will be played versus the Trinity College Bantams.
