Wozniak and Conway Named ECHA Player of the Week

Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Women’s Ice Hockey team had two named to the ECHA Player of the Week after their game versus Assumption this past week. The Lancers squared off in a double game weekend versus Assumption, coming away victorious in each of the games.

Wozniak recorded the hat trick for the Lancers on Sunday night and a pair of assists over the weekend. Wozniak’s initial offensive burst came with goals just six seconds apart to get the scoring going for the Lancers in what was ultimately a 4-2 victory. She now has recorded eight goals this season with three assists for 11 points, bringing her Lancer career total to 24 goals, 12 assists and 36 points.

 Additionally being named Player of the Week for the third time this season was Conway, who recorded both game winning goals for the Lancers. In Saturday's conference showdown with Assumption University, Conway tapped a goal in the waning minutes of the first period and on Sunday she scored off a power play opportunity to lead Worcester State to victory. Conway currently has 18 goals with eight assists for 26 points on the season. Her Lancer career totals now sit at 37 goals, 23 assists for 60 points.

The Lancers return to action this weekend with a trip to Wilkes in Pennsylvania. The Lancers take the ice on Friday for a 5pm.
