Erickson Selected NEWLA, Co-ECAC Defensive Player of the Week

Chicopee, MA --- Sophomore goalkeeper Haley Erickson has been named the New England Women’s Lacrosse Alliance Defensive Player of the Week for helping lead the Worcester State to a 2-0 week. She was also tabbed as a Co-ECAC New England Player of the Week with Colby's Sarah Warnke.

Erickson, a product of Saugus, MA, notched a 20 saves and a .513 save percentage this past week which included 11 stops in an 11-10 double overtime victory over UMass Dartmouth before she tallied nine saves and three ground balls in a 15-9 triumph over Becker.

Erickson currently has an 11.39 goals against average and a save percentage of .472 to go along with 42 stops. She has been outstanding in the cage for the Lancers as she has helped lead them to a 3-1 mark so far this season.

The Lancers have a pair NEWLA of games this week as they look for their first ever victory in a road trip to Bridgewater State on Thursday at 4 PM. WSC closes the week against Elms in a noontime contest on Saturday.
