Robichaud Honored As Co-MASCAC Rookie of the Week

Westfield, MA --- Freshman Lea Robichaud (Holden, MA) has received the nod as Co-MASCAC Rookie of the Week for backstopping Worcester State in a trio of wins this past week.

Robichaud posted a 3-0 record with a 6.28 goals against average and a .600 save percentage in 172:05 minutes of action. Her highlights included 15 saves – including 10 in the second half – in a 15-9 victory over Salem State and six stops in a 14-9 triumph over Fitchburg State.

The two key victories in MASCAC play against the Vikings and the Falcons helped the Lancers claim the second seed, a first-round bye and home game in the league playoffs this week.

On the regular season campaign, Robichaud has gone 11-3 with the most overall wins in the league while she has the second lowest goals against average (10.25), the fourth highest save percentage (.458) and the fifth most saves (108).

In MASCAC-only games, Robichaud has finished with a 5-1 conference slate to go with a 9.44 GAA, a .500 save percentage and 46 stops in 292:05 minutes between the pipes.

Robichaud shares the weekly honor with first-year Melissa Renauld (Framingham, MA) of Bridgewater State.

The second-seeded Blue and Gold will take on #3 Westfield State in the league tournament semifinals tomorrow at 7 PM.
