Full IWLCA Release

GRAND LAKE, Colo. - The Worcester State University women's lacrosse team has been named an Academic Honor Squad by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association. The announcement came last week from the IWLCA, the same day Lancer juniors Kelly Austin (Brimfield, Mass.) and Isabell Baldrate (Plymouth, Mass.) were named to the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll.

Worcester State was one of 312 institutions spanning all three NCAA divisions and the NAIA to receive the award, and one of five in the MASCAC. To be eligible for the honor, teams must achieve a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher as a team for the entire academic year.

The Lancers finished in fourth place in the MASCAC standings this season, and earned a spot in the MASCAC Semifinals with a first round victory over Mass. Maritime on April 30. The team finished with a record of 11-6, tied for the fifth most single-season wins in program history.
