Women's Lacrosse Grabs First Win of the Season versus Colby-Sawyer

Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Women's Lacrosse team had their first action of Spring Break when they took on Colby-Sawyer at Hilton Head in the first of their two game set. The Lancers were looking to grab their first win of the season in a local showdown down south.

The Lancers were quick to get the scoring going, recording seven goals in the opening quarter of play with a different goal scorer for each goal in the quarter. Worcester added a single goal in the second quarter but racked up another three goals at the start of the second half. They knocked in another two in the final quarter of pay to come away with the 13-6 victory. First year Mckayla Fisher (Peabody, MA) was the star of the game recording 5 assists and three goals in the game.

Senior Savanna Rosado (Milford, MA) recorded 14 saves while sophomore Sofia Perivolotis (Littleton, MA) came in in the final quarter to make two saves to wrap up the game. The Lancers were 9-13 on their clear attempts in the match, while senior Shea Jarvis (Auburn, MA) led the team with six shots on goal.

The Lancers (1-2) are back in action tomorrow as they take on Emerson at 9:30am in the second game in their Spring Break series.
