Brian McDermott enters his fourth year as a women's lacrosse assistant coach.

This past season, Coach McDermott helped the Lancers went 13-5 to equal the program mark for wins in a single campaign while also earning berths in the MASCAC title contest and the ECAC Division III New England Tournament championship game.

In 2013, the Lancers also reached the semifinals of both the MASCAC Tournament and the ECAC New England Tournament.

Coach McDermott grew up playing lacrosse in Huntington, Long Island and he played collegiately at Colorado State and Texas A&M when Aggie Lacrosse was still part of the SouthWest Lacrosse Association from 1977 through 1983. While at A&M, Brian received MVP and Best Attack awards and became a member of the SWLA All-Star team.  

Coach McDermott then played for the San Antonio Lacrosse Club and when he returned to Texas A&M University he became a player coach and then coached the TAMU team. Coach McDermott also played briefly for the New Orleans Lacrosse Club.
 
Coach McDermott is an educator by profession and has B.S., M.Ed., and Ph.D. degrees in education from Texas A&M University.  He has worked as a teacher and public school administrator for over 25 years and is currently working as an educational consultant.
