Worcester, MA --- Senior Tiffany Rotatori (Auburn, MA) scored a goal and added a helper help lead Worcester State to a 2-0 shutout victory over visiting Framingham State in MASCAC women's soccer action. The victory snaps a two-game losing streak for the Lancers (6-3-1, 2-1 MASCAC) while the Rams dip to 2-6 and 1-2 in conference play.

Rotatori gave the Blue and Gold a 1-0 advantage in the 17th minute when she scored an unassisted goal on a breakaway. The marker was Rotatori's team-leading eighth of the season.

The Lancers added an insurance marker in the 46th minute when Rotatori dished out a nice feed to junior Katelyn Bonetti (Plymouth, MA) for her first tally of the season.

In the 71st and 81st minute, Framingham State freshman Tanya Vital (Wilbraham, MA) and junior Katie Jeffery (Attleboro, MA) each had their chance to score a goal to get within striking distance, but Vital's attempt hit the post and Jeffery's was too wide.

WSC had a slight 7-6 advantage in shots in the first half and a 9-5 edge in the second stanza while the Rams led in corners, 3-2.

Sophomore goalkeeper Rachael Armenti (W. Boylston, MA) posted her third shutout of the season while she finished with three saves. Senior Kate Simonelli (Pittsfield, MA) was impressive as she stopped 9 of the 11 shots she faced.

Worcester State will travel to face nationally ranked Western Connecticut on Wednesday at 7 PM while Framingham State will entertain Johnson and Wales on Monday at 3:30.
