Women's Soccer Logs Fourth Straight In Triumph At Plymouth State

Plymouth, NH --- Sophomore Laura Maunsell (Medford, MA) scored her first goal of the season Tuesday afternoon, leading Worcester State University to a 1-0 victory over Plymouth State University in a non-conference women's soccer match-up at Panther Field.

Maunsell scored the eventual game-winner in the 31st minute, driving home her own rebound to put the Lancers up 1-0.

Senior keeper Angiezaka Sychtysz (Warren, MA) needed to make just one save for the Lancers for her third shutout of the season as Worcester State improved to 4-2-1 and extends its win streak to four.  The Panthers fall to 3-3.

PSU senior goalkeeper Angelina LaBroad (Hampton, N.H.) had a busy day in goal, collecting eight saves, including stops on three consecutive Lancer corner kicks in the second half.

Worcester State defenders senior Nikki Scott (Berlin, MA) and sophomores Carolyn Hassett (Charlton, MA), Makayla Moran (Leominster, MA) along with junior Mariah Messina (Tewksbury, MA) limited the Panthers to five shots overall and just one shot on goal. Sophomore midfielder Laura Davis (Pelham, NY) had the lone shot on goal for PSU.

Both teams are on the road next as Worcester State travels to Framingham State on Friday and Plymouth State hosts Eastern Connecticut in a Little East Conference game on Saturday.
