Buzzards Bay, MA --- Junior forward Gaby Gonet (Agawam, MA) has been named MASCAC Women's Soccer Player of the Week for her solid performance this past weekend against Salem State.
Gonet netted both goals in a 2-2 double-overtime draw against the Vikings in their only game last week. The single point helped the Lancers maintain a tie for second-place in the conference standings with Bridgewater State.
With seven goals and three assists to her credit this season, Gonet is currently tied for fifth in markers and is sixth with 17 points. For her career, she moved into 18th on WSU's all-time scoring list with 13 tallies and eight helpers for 34 career points.
Worcester State (5-6-1, 3-1-1 MASCAC) plays three games in the next week with Plymouth State tonight at home at 7 PM before they head to Colby Sawyer on Wednesday (3:30 PM) and Fitchburg State on the road this Saturday (10 AM).
