Macomber Named MASCAC Women's Soccer Player of the Week

 

Westfield, MA --- Junior Alicia Macomber (Stoughton, MA) has been selected MASCAC Player of the Week for her outstanding performance in a victory against Rhode Island College this past weekend.

Ahead by one entering the second period, Macomber potted a registered her squads next three goals to notch her first career hat-trick in an eventual 9-0 win over the Anchorwomen.

With her three tallies, she also moved into a tie with former teammate Laura Maunsell (2010-13) for 16th on Worcester State's all-time scoring list with 16 goals and six assists to her credit for 38 points in 37 games.

Last season Macomber led the Lancers offense in markers (9) and points (20) as she helped the Blue and Gold reach the MASCAC Tournament title game. She was also an All-MASCAC selection at midfield during her freshman campaign.

Through the first three games of the season, Macomber is currently atop of the MASCAC statistical leaders in both tallies (3) and points (6).

Worcester State has a pair of road games against their two local rivals in the next week. WSU takes on WPI on Wednesday at 7 PM before facing off against Clark on Saturday in a noontime kickoff.
