Worcester, MA- The Worcester State Women’s Soccer team grabbed not only their first win of the season this past week but also were honored with their first MASCAC weekly honor of the season as first year Ava Chevalier (Brimfield, MA) was awarded this weeks MASCAC Rookie of the Week honors.
Chevalier scored her first career goal, netting the first goal of the game in the Lancers’ setback to WPI. Chevalier started both games on the week for the Lancers, recording two points on the week and shotting .500 for the week.
Sophomore Ava Lemanski (Clinton, MA) was also honored on the weekly honor roll after tallying three goals for six points in a 1-1 week for the Lancers. Recorded the first goal of the Lancers season and the game winner in their 1-0 win over Eastern Connecticut and scored two one of which to tie it up late in the eventual 5-3 setback to WPI.
