Paxton, MA --- After senior Britney Cullen (Milford, MA) took the opening set in the first singles matchup against Michelle Gregoire (North Brookfield, MA) on a tie-breaker (6-2, 4-6, 7-4), Worcester State would sweep Anna Maria, 9-0, in Women's Tennis action on Saturday afternoon. For both teams it was their season opener.

The winners of the other singles matches included juniors Janei Vajcovec () (6-2, 6-1), Albana Xhemollari (Worcester, MA) (6-0, 6-0), Jessica Sargent (Clinton, MA) (6-1, 6-2) and Nicole Sellner (N. Attleboro, MA) (6-0, 6-0) along with sophomore Ashley Perkins (Worcester, MA) (6-1, 6-0).

Cullen paired up with Xhemollari to take the first doubles 8-1 while Vajcovec and Perkins swept the second doubles, 8-0. Sellner and junior Daneille Lehman (Westminster, MA) won the last match of the day, 8-0.

The Lancers will face Rhode Island College on Thursday at 3:30 at WPI while the AMCATS visit Eastern Nazarene on Tuesday at 4 PM.
