Bridgewater State 9, Worcester State 0
Bridgewater, MA --- Bridgewater State, who is off to their third fastest start in program history, handed Worcester State a 9-0 loss this afternoon as the Lancers dropped to 1-4 on the season. The Bears swept all six singles and three doubles matches to post the triumph.
Senior Lauren Cain (Framingham, MA), who was previously 3-0, recieved her first setback of the year when she lost in the sixth singles matchup, 6-3 and 6-2. Senior Ashley Perkins (Worcester, MA/Doherty) also had a close matchup in first singles as she lost the first set 7-5, before dropping the second, 6-0.
Both teams have Thursday matches at 3:30. The Lancers enter a stretch where they will host their next four matches starting with Nichols at Clark while Bridgewater State travels to Roger Williams.
