UMass Dartmouth 9, Worcester State 0
Leicester, MA --- UMass Dartmouth took all six singles matches and all three doubles matches this afternoon to effectively sweep Worcester State in non-conference women's tennis action at Becker College.
Amber Ubertini (Dalton, MA), Kelsey Grossman (Holliston, MA), Courtney Morey (Mashpee, MA), Juliet Levangie (Middleboro, MA) and Daneila Joggi (Stoneham, MA) all posted two-set wins in first, second, fourth, fifth and sixth singles. Ubertini teamed with Grossman and Blair Dalrymple (N. Attleboro, MA) along with Levangie each notched 8-3 triumphs in first and second doubles.
The contest featured two tie-breaker matches. In third doubles the WSC pair of Nicole Sellner (N. Attleboro, MA) and Danielle Lehman (Westminster, MA) while the opposing Corsair duo of Joggi and Morey tied the first set 8-8, but UMass-Dartmouth prevailed as they won extra session 7-5. In third singles Courteney Blais (Paxton, MA) won her first set 7-6, but Dalrymple took the last two 6-1 and 10-4.
Both teams have 3:30 matches next Tuesday. Worcester State's last home match of the season is against Albertus Magnus on "Senior Day" while the Corsairs have an away Little East matchup against Salem State.
